Prospective Members
Those who are interested in becoming an undergraduate member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated must uphold high standards, morals, and academic achievement. For Undergraduates, matriculation as a full-time, undergraduate student where the campus chapter is located; or matriculation as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited school affiliated with an undergraduate city chapter in the community is required. One must have creditably completed* at least one grading period (or as defined by the college or university) as a full-time student at the institution affiliated with the chapter, immediately preceding submission of the application. Desiring candidates must also attend the official Rush and complete the Membership Experience (ME).

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is a non-hazing organization. Pledging is not a part of the membership process. Those who are knowingly and willingly participating in pledging or hazing activities may be forbidden membership into the sorority. Expulsion and suspension may also apply if one is found to be a participant in such activities once membership has been achieved.
